What the heck am I thinking. I have been accepted to do a Third Disney College Program. I will be arriving some time in late Aug or begging of September. This time my role is in Operations.
For those who do not know me, let me fill you in on a bit of my back story (and to those same people who don’t know me, welcome to my blog). I have done the Walt Disney World College Program twice before. The first time was in the Spring of 2002 (my freshmen year in college), with a role in Quick Service Food and Beverage. Most of my time spent on this college program was at Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park. However when I first arrived in January the park was closed and I was put at Disney’s All Star Sports Resort doing foods there. Then when the Atlanta Braves Spring Training started, I was moved to Disney’s Wide World of Sports to help out with a few games ushering. Now I am not a big Braves fan, but getting paid to watch baseball and to answer where the bathroom was, I was not going to complain! Finally after working at Blizzard Beach I was able to train and be a lifeguard for a few weeks at the park. Even with all the moving around, I had a wonderful time on my first College Program.
After coming home, I applied to the Disney Store and have worked there since. Also I had became the Campus Rep for my school for the college program. As a campus rep I promoted the College Program on my campus and other schools around me in exchange for goodies and perks from Disney.
Last year, because of a class I needed and being talked into it by a wonderful female I applied and did the program again (after failing to get a Professional Internship). This time I worked at Downtown Disney at the World of Disney, the largest Disney retail location in the whole world. Unlike my first program I stayed at this location for the whole time (with the exception of 3 or 4 days at the Christmas shop in downtown Disney).
I had a wonderful time with both programs. So much so that after this next time, I am hopefully going to stay in Florida and work there Full-time. That’s the reason for my third CP. I can go to Florida knowing that I have a place to live and work for 5 months while I work at getting a full-time role and a place to live.
And if that is not crazy enough, I have a trip planed for my birthday in July with some co-workers from here at home.
So there is my story. Please feel free to ask questions in my comments and I will try to answer them.

Ok, two fun things with this post!

First, last weekend my school held the 2nd annual addition of Moosestock. And returning this year was the band Enter The Haggis. Next just for the fun of it, I uploated another video of a Streetmosphere performer from the Disney-MGM studios in Florida. This is one of my favorite characters, very funny and a wonderful character to watch. Check him out!

So I am taking a class this semester where the bulk of it is learning about Photoshop. So we did a bit in ImageReady and learned how to make animated GIFs…. So I thought I would have some fun with it on my own and made this beauty.

There is a setting on my Digital Camera that as long as I hold the shutter button down, it will keep taking photos till I let go. So I would do these with the fireworks as it made my hand giggle less and made for a better fireworks photo….

I wish I could of posted a bigger one, but photobucket made it 1/2 the size I saved it as… sooo.. yeah

But the photo was taken across the lake from the Magic Kingdom during one of the Halloween parties they have (This one is from the party on Oct. 20th 2005 while I was on my College Program). The fireworks you see were set off all around the park, so if you were in the park, everywhere you look around you there are fireworks. It is really a sight to see.

So I have noticed lately that there has been a number of people viewing my fireworks photos of Cinderella’s castle a few posts ago. So because of that, here are a couple more photos of the Castle at Walt Disney World that I have taken during my Disney College Program last semester. Hope you enjoy!

The picture below was taken on the beach of the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World during one of the showings of Holiday Wishes. Notice the many fireworks around the park. This is only the 2nd show that have used the parameter fireworks (the first being Hallowishes a few months before). It was very awesome to see them inside the park, even more so during the New Years Fireworks:

So I am writing this post apologizing for the recent lack of posts on this blog. I am currently getting ready to move down to Florida for the small semester for the Walt Disney World College Program. All of this packing is starting to make me go crazy, trying to remember everything that I will need.

But as a reminder, I do bookmark some sites with delicious, and those in turn show up in my RSS feed. So I have been meaning to start an article about the Disney College Program on Wikipedia for awhile, but of couse I have been lazy. Thankfuly, someone else actualy started an article on the program last month and its looking very good. I have done a bit of tweeking to a few of the pages too (more to come from me). If your looking for info about the program, this is a great place to start learning about the program. So some people have already arrived for the Fall Advantage Walt Disney World College Program, but before you know it August will be around and WE will be ariving (thats right I will be going back to Florida this fall!). First, Get yourself signed up over at http://www.cpdatabase.info. Fill out your name and e-mail address and your arrival date and your AIM screen name, and then you can meet others who are arriving when you are.

Next, check out www.disneyalumni.com. This is a great site with tons of Alumni on the message boards. There is also a good information section on the site made by the web master (note that some has not been updated lately and may of changed).

http://www.disneycp.net”: As of this date, the website is currenty on hiatus, but when it comes back up i’m sure it will be great , so keep checking the link and we shall see what happens.

So I sit down to watch tv after just eatting dinner and what is on the local news channel???
News 10 Now | 24 Hour Local News | Travel Tuesday | Disney (go to the website, and then you can watch the news story as a video… very badly put on the internet though, the sound needs adjusting…. the main audio is on the right speeker, and the background noise is on the left speeker……)

Yeah…. a travel story about WDW…. sooo need to go back… At this very time last year I was at Disney World starting my week long vacation….. hopefuly only a few more weeks I’ll be back down there….. One can only hope.

So I finally got my desktop computer hooked back up in my room (just moved outta my college dorm room). So today I’m going to post a news story PRINTED by the New York Daily News in the GOSSIP column. The reason why I’m choosing to post this is the humor that it brings to me and other Disney College Program Alumni who read it (I do admit it does anger me a little, but you still got to laugh at it). Its fun to see how someone can take tiny little truths and stretch it out to something this big and try to pass it off as a valid story. As you can see with the writing, there is really no point to the article, it just tries to point out various things, but it has no goals to it.

Now, People who have come here looking for info on the Disney World College Program PLEASE take this article with a grain of salt. Do not let this article scare you away from doing the college program. All of the statements in the article are more then likely from a former cast member who has nothing better to do then to rag about their old job and make it sound like the worse thing in the world.

As for alumni of the program, don’t nag on me for posting this. You have to show the good along with the bad of the program (no matter how far stretched the bad is).
