So I went and saw Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy on Saturday and it was awesome. The movie was very true to the book, and the added parts/characters were done nicely. It even had a great opening number that involved Dolphins (which was in the book, not at the beginning though, but I like the choice and how they turned it into a song).
I just want to throw in a note here for people who have not read the book (this is comming after reading a few “reviews” on Yahoo! movies site from people). In the book, there is no real set plot for why things go the way they do, it is kind of play it by ear thing. Each new set of information changes why things happen, and why they are traveling. However in the movie, they desided to give it more of a plot line, but not a big one (has to do with Author going after Trillian for the whole movie). So its very worthwild to skim the book a bit before you go to the movie, it will make your experence more enjoyable (although I have talked to several people who have not read the book and had really no idea what the story was about and they enjoyed it). The books are actually all online. If you go to my Del.icio.us links: Jimmybop’s Del.icio.us Links you can find links to all five books in the trilogy (or you can go to your local libary/B&N and check it out too). (7/15/05 Note: the website no longer hosts the books, but if your still web savvy you can still find them using the links posted on my delicious links)
And if your still having questions about Towels check this out: h2h2 community’s guide about towels
I was also excited that they even put the british mini-series Marvin (anyone else a big enough fan to see this?):

“Life. Don’t talk to me about Life.”
He was waiting in line at the window, in the office after the things were slaping them in the face on Vogsphere.
And now I leave you with a song, you can watch the video over at Yahoo! Movies under the movie’s page here:
So Long and Thanks for All the Fish Lyrics (for the lyrics to the entire song, check out this post I made: Lyrics: So long and thanks for all the fish):
So long and thanks for all the fish!
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all but, oh dear!
The world’s about to be destroyed
There’s no point getting all annoyed
Lie back and let the planet dissolve
So long, so long, and thanks for all the fish!
