Double Dare | # | General — jimmybop @ 3:51 am

So since I have been home from school, I have been addicted to watching reruns of Double Dare. Nick GaS channel is evil showing 2 hours worth between 1 and 2 am est EVERY NIGHT! Dosen’t matter which version of the show (Supper Sloppy, Family or DD 2000), I’ll watch it. But I do admit, Marc Summers is much better at hosting the show (compaired to Jason Harris, but he was alright).

Some things I have noticed about the show.
1. The show has the slickist floor. Even when there is not anything visable on the floor the people slip and slide.
2. Some of the families have no idea whats going on. They should of atleast showed them a video tape of the show before going on.
3. The buzzer is not loud enough. Even after a team wins something, they keep going (well its either they do not hear it or like I said in number 2, they have idea what the heack it going on).
4. Coolest Obstacle: Gum Drop

Dance off | # | Links, Internet — jimmybop @ 12:51 am

Short post tonight. Found this link on a random blog (don’t remember where). Its pretty cool. Its Napolenon Dynamite vs. Fender (from Robots) in a Dance Off:
Napoleon Dynamite vs. Fender

I also found this a few days ago Learn to Dance with Napoleon Dynomite

It goes move by move through Napoleon’s dance in the movie so you can dance Flippin’ sweet.

Check out my Delicious links for more sweet stuff: http://del.icio.us/jimmybop, or if you subscribe to my feed (links on the top right corner of my page at this moment) you can get my links daily (if I make any during the day… which I do most days =P ).

More Links | # | General, Disney, Links, Internet — jimmybop @ 1:19 am

Well, nothing really too much to write tonight, So I thought I would share some more fun links with you all:

Blogshares: This is a site I’ve stumbled upon via Blogs for Firefox. It is a stock market type games based on blogs. You buy shares of stock in blogs and based on a number of different factors such as links in/out and what not, the value will go up and down. There are also several other things that can be done, but I haven’t figured them out yet :P . But join in if you have a blog (heck, it may already be on there if it was pulled from a Pinging service), and check it out.

Single in Syracuse: Now more then likely, Woman will find this blog more interesting then men, but I’ve found it a pretty good read. This is a blog that follows a 21 woman and her dating adventures in Syracuse, NY (close to me). Some of her stories are pretty funny and others are very thought provoking. Check it out.

Mickey News: This is a great place for Disney News. Not only do they publish a wide verity of news about the Disney Company from many different sources, they also have original columns written by some great writers. You can sign up for their newsletter and get the news in your inbox every day. A must for any Disney fan (like me!).

Chicken Little — The Official Movie Website: November 4th, 2005, THE END IS NEAR! This looks like an awesome movie. On the offical site, they have the previews up on the website including the one that came before Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, which spoofed on the Hitchiker’s trailer. So check it out! (and check out Herbie: Fully Loaded on June 22, 2005… commercial was just on tv)

Thats it for now, have a good one.

Disney Virtual Magic Kingdom | # | General, Disney, Links, Internet — jimmybop @ 2:43 am

So a few months ago I saw a pretty cool thing abouta Virtual Magic Kingdom that Disney was going to do on the internet. Well since then I sorta forgot what the address it was for it….. until today :)

Disney Vitural magic kingdom logo

Check out www.vmk.com (yeah, its easy enough to remember now :-P

So you go and log in (with your go.com username and password) and create a person. You then can go onto the Magic Kingdom and walk around. So whats the whole point? well you go and play games themed after rides (such as Pirates, Jungle Cruise) and win points and pins. You then can take the points you win and buy virtual stuff such as diffrent clothes and “Stuff” for your private rooms (which you can meet up with people in).

So far I’ve only played with it once and so far so good… Its still in BETA mode so not all is there. But what is there is pretty decent. The only problem some people may have is that its a BIG macromedia download. With my cable modem (which feels a bit on the slow side after months at school with a T1 connection), it took about 3-4 mins.

But go and check it out and have some fun!

the fox is spreading | # | General, Internet, Firefox — jimmybop @ 5:30 pm

I am happy to report that firefox is spreading. I am currently at my college’s library, and what do you know, they installed firefox onto the library’s desktop computers. Very Very exciting. Now I’m hoping that the school will start pushing the browser on students so that there will “less” problems on student computers and that they will open back up some gaming/firesharing ports. But one can hope.

Also I am proud to announce that this blog is now part of the Blogs for Firefox blogroll. Check out the site, and join on in if you can. I shall add the blogroll list to my site some time. Gotta figure out how to do it without making my menu list any longer…. I think a new layout is being called for, if I can get off my lazy ass and do it. I’m think three columns wide. But we shall see whats to come and whats out there as I’m not too skilled.

MythBusters | # | General, Links, Internet — jimmybop @ 11:31 pm

So I’m sitting here watching on TV right now on the . So I figured I would do a blog post on the show. Not only is the show really entertaining (and one of my favorite show) you always walk away (or atleast getting up form your chair/couch) learning something new from every show. This show has covered many myths associated with many of the e-mail going around, like goldfish only having a 3 second memory, and movie myths like killer quicksand.

The thing I love about the show the most is that they actually show the planning and the making of the stunt. So not only do you get to see the huge awesome bangs and the blood and gore of the ballistic gel dummies =) but you get to see how its done, even if they tests fail horribly (like tonight’s rolling stone gathers no moss or the chicken gun into the airplane window). And they also do the stunts with great humor (most of the time), Adam and Jamie work so well together, its awesome.

I cant pick out a favorite show of theirs, there are many good ones. I mean you have to be impressed by the cement truck they blew up into tiny pieces, or even Adam peeing on an electric rail.

So yeah, if you have not seen the show, check it out. News shows are on Wednesday night at 9 est on the Discovery Channel, but they do reshow old and new shows at other points during the week and weekends. CHECK YOUR LOCAL TV LISTINGS!

Another Hitchhiker Post | # | General, Disney, h2g2 — jimmybop @ 2:34 am

Just thought I would do another post based on the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie that just came out because I just read a really good review on the movie over at blogcritics. Check it out: Film Review: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

I believe its a very fair review of the movie with lots of valid points. The development of the “love” story between trillian and Arthur was a bit too much, but I can see why the did it. Also a good point about how the story line of how Ford was a writer for the guide got kinda lost too.

But over all the movie was done well. Someone could of took the movie and over done it with the special effects and ruin it. And like all other books turned into a movie, so much stuff gets cut out and change, this should not be any diffrent.

Also I want to point out that every version of the Hitchhiker “trilogy” has been diffrent and there is no “offical” story. So how can people say the movie sucks because it dosent follow the “real” story line when there really is not one????

I also wanted to reply to a comment made in the blogcritics post (and I quote word for word):

Comment 2 posted by DNA on May 13, 2005 02:47 PM:

Why be so pleasant to Disney. They waited until Douglas Adams died to turn his masterpiece of literature into a long infommercial for Disney merchandise. I’d call that sick and disgusting, Disney has reached a new low. Boycott the movie if you do not want to see a sequel. And specially boycott the DVD rentals and DVD sales, for that’s is where they always expected to see a profit.
————————————-

HOLY COW, would you of still said that if it was another movie studio who did this film? Every film project has its delays. And as for mass merchandiceing??? there is not too much merchandice from the film, if Disney wanted to promote this and to try to get a big return, there will be alot more merchandice for the movie and they would of used the Disney name and not Touchtone.

so yeah, thats my rant, but thoes are just my thoughts, I could be wrong =P
